16 September 1892: Died in Bothwell; aged 77; cause: decay of nature; informant: his friend, Simon Arnett.
18 September 1892: Buried at Bothwell Public Cemetery.

On Saturday afternoon (3rd April), a little girl named Whiteway, was about 7 years, daughter of a man named James Whiteway, a resident of Bothwell, was accidentally burnt to death. The little thing had been left in the house while the mother went on some errands; on her return she found the child burnt almost to a cinder. An inquest was held yesterday. [TROVE]
