DISTRICT OF BOTHWELL. We, the undersigned, householders and landowners in the district of Bothwell, do hereby convene a Public Meeting of the householders and landowners of the district in the school room, Bothwell, on Saturday, the 10th November, at twelve o'clock, for the purpose of electing road trustees, also to fix the rate of assessment to be charged upon and paid by the several owners and occupiers of lands, messuages, and dwelling-houses within the district, and also to take into consideration the necessity of obtaining a new line of road through the estate of "Woodlands," under the authority of the act of council, 13th Victoria, No 5, entitled "An act for making and maintaining the road leading from the township of Bothwell to the main road, and for making, repairing, and maintaining other roads in the district of Bothwell...Daniel Hunt. The following Address was presented to Captain King, RN, APM, Bothwell, on his retiring from that District to assume the duties of Port Officer at Hobart Town.
Bothwell, June 20,1850. To George King, Esq, APM, Bothwell. Dear Sir, Understanding that your services are shortly to be required in Hobart Town, as Port Officer, and that you are called upon by the Government to occupy an office congenial to your former habits, and of course more agreeable to yourself, we avail ourselves of the opportunity to offer you our congratulations on the occasion, and to express our hope that the exchange may, in every respect, prove advantageous to yourself, and agreeable to your family. Whilst we thus express our hope for your welfare, we, at the same time, beg to assure you that we sincerely regret your departure from amongst us, both as a gentleman and a magistrate, having fulfilled your public duties in this district to the general satisfaction of the community. Wishing you and yours every happiness and prosperity, we remain, dear sir, most faithfully yours... Daniel Hunt.

26 Oct 1859 - Juror at the inquest of Susan Connell at [1-C3,C4] Young Queen Inn, Dalrymple St, Bothwell who came to her death by heart disease having been accelerated by intemperate habits. (18)

27 Apr 1861 - 27 Apr 1861 - Juror at the inquest of Eli Parker held at [1-F1] White Hart Inn, Patrick St, Bothwell who came to his death by natural causes accelerated by catching cold by going into the River Clyde for the purpose of removing some stones. (19)

13 Dec 1868 - Daniel died from bronchitis at the age of 74 years at [1-17] Elizabeth St, Bothwell.

HUNT - At his residence, Bothwell, December 13th, 1868, Daniel Hunt, boot and shoemaker aged 74, after a long illness leaving a loving wife and a large circle of friends to deplore his loss. (26,27)

22 Jan 1839 - Supreme Court Hobart. Free by Servitude. Again tried and convicted at Supreme Court Hobart and sentenced to seven years transportation. Two years at the Female Factory vide memo of Colonial Secretary. (1)

29 Jan 1839 - Newspaper article.

SUPREME COURT. Before the Chief Justice and a Military Jury. Tuesday, Jan 22, 1839. Margaret Campbell was indicted for stealing three bottles of wine and found guilty. She was sentenced to seven years transportation. (4)

11 Feb 1839 - Assigned for 2 years to the Cascades Female Factory in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. (1)

13 Oct 1840 - The Lieutenant Governor has been pleased to direct that the remaining part of the period of probation which she has to serve has been remitted, vide memo Principal Superintendent 13 Oct 1840. (1)
