April 5, 1842 - Quarter Sessions, Chelmsford, Essex, England. Convicted of sheep stealing - sentenced to 15 years transportation. Gaol Report - twice convicted before. Stated this Offence - “Stealing a lamb, prosecutor at Great Easton; once for barley, 3 months; 14 days for trespass. Single.”
October 1, 1843 - Departed from Plymouth, Devon, England per the Anson bound for Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Hulk Report - good.
February 4, 1844 - Arrived at Hobart after a voyage of 4 months, 4 days. Surgeon's Report - good.
Description upon arrival: Trade - farm labourer; Height - 5' 6½"; Age - 26; Complexion - fresh; Head - oval; Hair - dark brown; Whiskers - dark brown; Visage - oval; Forehead - medium height; Eyebrows - dark brown; Eyes - dark brown; Nose - medium; Mouth - medium; Chin - medium; Native Place - Hallingbury, Essex, England; Remarks - bled twice both arms, scars on breast, scars on forehead. Aaron Patient was fully committed for trial at the next Quarter Sessions for assaulting and wounding Henry Colbeck. The wound was severe, and in the absence of any Medical man within 20 miles of Bothwell the Chief Constable dressed it.
July 24, 1857 - Supreme Court, Oatlands, Tasmania, Australia. Convicted of unlawfully striking Henry Colbeck over the head with a whip - to be imprisoned in the Gaol, Oatlands for eight calendar months.

September 2, 1845 - Departed from Dublin, Ireland per the Tasmania bound for Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
December 3, 1845 - Arrived at Hobart, Tasmania, Australia after a voyage of 3 months, 2 days.

September 27, 1847 - Appeared at the Lower Court, Bothwell. 3rd class Probation Holder, Tasmania, 7 years, service of Mr John Ibbott. Charged on complaint of her master with drunkenness on the 26th September inst. Pleaded guilty. Found guilty. Imprisonment with hard labour for one month. Prisoner being called upon said - "I have nothing to say. The liquor was brought to me by one of Mr Brigg's men whose name I do not know."

On the 7th February 1881, by N P Allison, Esq, JP, for the arrest of James Swindells, charged with having assaulted and beaten on Ann Patient, at Bothwell, on 28th January 1881. Description - 33 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fair complexion, light hair, light thin whiskers, stout build, lost most of his front teeth, scar on chin, native of Bothwell; was formerly employed as a waggoner between Bothwell and Hobart; was seen in Hobart on 2nd inst.
